OUR JOURNEY
OUR STORY
Our history goes back to the mid-1990s when we started out as a managed care (clinical risk management) company, and later evolved into a holistically integrated administration (TPA) and health risk management provider. Owning our own software and source code has been the crux of our philosophy since inception, ensuring embedded intellectual property within our technology and software solutions.
Our commitment to ensure that our technology and product development is in line with international standards, a unique philosophical approach and focus on establishing strong partnerships with key clients saw us quickly expand our presence from South Africa to Australia, Africa, the UAE and South East Asia. Operating entities in Australia and UAE were offloaded as part of a refocusing strategy during 2015.
More recently, our growth journey extended into Singapore, the United Kingdom and broader European market with current investments including Agility Risk Solutions [UK], Agility Risk Solutions [Asia] and Knowledge Objects Asia. Agility Investments International (Pte) Ltd is incorporated in Singapore and fully owns these operating entities.
Throughout these global developments, we continued to embed our research and development into source-code-owned software, ensuring that it could continuously be refined and integrated as part of our growth trajectory. To this day, all technology is source code owned by Agility (or our subsidiaries).
This unique positioning enables us to expertly respond to the highly complex nature of the healthcare, rewards, financial services and human capital risk management environments.

Agility Risk Solutions [Asia]
Agility Risk Solutions [UK] and Agility Risk Solutions [Asia] are both wholly owned by Agility Investments International and provide intelligent technology solutions to Asia, the United Kingdom and broader Europe. These solutions are provided from the background of two decades of global investment across three continents.
Knowledge Objects Asia
Knowledge Objects Asia is fully owned by Agility Investments International and owns all the technology and intellectual property deployed outside of Africa. Its unique experience and knowledge within healthcare risk management has made it a clear leader in the automation of knowledge intensive processes across various international markets.

NEELS BARENDRECHT I CEO
Neels has been involved in the healthcare funding industry since 1993, initially as consultant and later as an entrepreneur in establishing various healthcare administration, managed care, technology, customer care, marketing, and related entities. The Group's most recent expansion into the Asian, UK and broader European markets were pioneered through his leadership.
KENNETH KWOK I Non-executive Chairman
With close to 5 decades’ experience in the insurance industry, Kenneth adds a unique skillset, approach and expertise to Agility’s Executive Team. Based in Hong Kong, he has served as President, CEO and Chairman of various large insurance companies where his responsibilities included the formulation and execution of business strategies and directing overall organisational performance.

RICHARD VAN DER BEEK I Non-Executive, Independent Director
Richard is a certified Internal Auditor and, combined with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters in Professional Accounting, he brings a wealth of experience to the team. As a Dutch citizen with Singapore residency, he has worked with several multi-national corporations. His broad-based skillset includes management reporting, the selection and implementation of software and internal auditing.
DR JACQUES RENE SNYMAN I Medical Director
Jacques is a renowned expert in various fields of Clinical Pharmacology and has significantly contributed to the advancement of healthcare in South Africa. He is the key driving force behind Agility’s Patient Driven Care™ (PDC™) programme: A cornerstone of our risk management philosophy that has consistently achieved significant results since inception.
CHANTAL VILJOEN I Technology Director
Chantal has close to 20 years' healthcare technology experience and holds two BTech Degrees in Information Technology and Project Management respectively. As Technology Director, she applies her unique and specialised expertise to various analytical requirements, as well as the design, development and implementation of bespoke software and / or integration solutions.
WILMA LIEBENBERG I Strategic Advisor
With 20 years’ experience in information technology, Wilma played an instrumental role in the expansion of Agility’s global footprint and as CEO of our technology outfit. As a result, she gained vast international and local knowledge spanning Africa, the UAE, Singapore and Australia. Her leadership has been instrumental in guiding a lean, dedicated team of IT professionals to pioneer a hybrid and agile approach to developing healthcare risk management technology.
ROSHEN GALAL I Corporate Finance Executive
Roshen is a Chartered Accountant by qualification and has gained his experience primarily in the Private Equity and Corporate Finance spheres, with a particular focus on healthcare. As the Agility Group's Finance Executive, Roshen focuses primarily on value creation through organic opportunities, as well as merger and acquisition activities.
BIANCA VILJOEN I Marketing, Distribution & Rewards Director
As a marketing & MBA graduate, Bianca’s experience in the healthcare industry stretches over more than a decade, concentrating on industry analyses, healthcare and medical insurance distribution aspects. She focuses her executive responsibilities on product and benefit design, marketing & distributions management and strategic planning.

Adele’s healthcare funding experience spans 20 years with a clear and natural affinity for the industry’s complex, challenging and ever evolving environment. With areas of expertise including project management, business and system analyses, operations management, business process reengineering, customer relationship management and provider negotiations & network management, Adele serves as invaluable member of the Agility management team.
